Don't Cry Over a Broken Tomato Branch

I have several tomatoes that just sprouted in my raised beds.  While W and I were attempting to put a cage over one, a branch broke off.  It was full of blooms, and I could not bear to just toss it away.  I immediately took it in the house and placed it in a vase of water.

A little over a week later I had a plant loaded with roots and sporting a tiny tomato!  This is a good example of why I plant all of my tomato plants as deep as possible.  Those tiny hair looking things on the side of a tomato plant very easily turn into roots.  A plant with good roots is a strong plant.  Rather than being tossed aside that broken branch is now a plant!
