My savings tip for today is to find a cheaper way to get the things you want. Some people believe that living frugally means you must do without those little things you enjoy. For me that is magazines. I admit that I am addicted. I currently subscribe to 50+ magazines. The good news for my budget is that I pay nothing for most of them and do not pay full price for any of them. That deal you are offered in those "renew now" mailings is not really a deal. I get free magazines from deals others share on blogs such as The Thrifty Mama. I get some free from survey sites. I order discounted magazines from Publication Station or Best Deal Magazines. One of my current favorite places to get free magazines is through My Coke Rewards. Most people cannot be bothered with entering the codes, but I get a good portion of my magazine subscription through this promotion.
Now for the Giveaway
This is my first giveaway, and I am excited. The prize is a year's subscription to one magazine of your choice from the following: Better Homes & Gardens, Good Housekeeping, Ladies Home Journal, or Redbook. The contest will run through Monday, April 6. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, April 7. To enter, leave a comment with a money saving tip and either a link to your blog or your e-mail address so I can contact you. The randomly chosen winner will have 48 hours to contact me with a mailing address and choice of magazine or an alternate winner will be chosen. Good luck!

Thank you for the giveaway. My hint is when you are given t-shrts for some event take them even if they are the wrong size (or a really hideous color). I use them as cleaning rags.

Hi Dawn
my tip to save money is just stay home and use what you have at home! It's hard to spend cash when you are doing things at home with supplies you already have.
thanks for hosting this giveaway

Great idea for a giveaway! :) My biggest money saving tip is to shop thrift stores and yard sales. I've gotten some amazing deals!
Always make a shopping list and organize your coupons accordingly!
You will be amazed how much $$ you can save every month!
I would luv a years sub to Better Homes & Gardens :)
Thanks for a Great Giveaway!
My money saving tip is regarding meal planning. I cook full meals 3-4 days/week then the other days are easy stuff or leftovers. I also make sure that we have things that are easy for my husband to take in his lunch. No lunches out saves us big bucks!!
I'd love a free magazine subscription!!
My favorite lotion is quite thick, and when it gets to the last 1/4 of a bottle, it won't pump any more. When that happens, I open a new bottle and use about 1/4 of it. Then I cut the old bottle in half with an exacto knife, and use a popsicle stick to scoop the remaining lotion into the new bottle. No more wasted lotion or trying to water it down to get it out of the bottle.

I shop garage sales and the clearance isle. But really, staying home and using what you have is a great tip.
What a kind gift!
Thrift tip (which is kind of relevant): I've recently been saving money on reading material by going to the library more often. My husband and I read like fiends, and we have a good collection, but we have learned that most of what we love can be found at the local library all the same, but for FREE! We've also discovered the beauty of the magazine rack at our library, so we are saving even more money now by not paying for magazines we enjoy.

Thanks for the opportunity to win!
My hint is to reduce, re-use and recycle. We hear it all the time as a way to help the planet, but it is great on the pocketbook as well.

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!
My money saving tip is to really keep my trips to Walmart to a minimum. I only went in Walmart 2 times in the last 5 months. I save so much money by staying out of there and away from any spontaneous deals I might find. Instead I have been going to CVS and using coupons only. My closet is stocked at a fraction of the cost. Plus it is a quieter environment to shop in thus not making it so tiring.
Blessings,
Julie
